1. Fountain of youth!
Scientists have developed an antibody drug that could slow down accumulation of old and damaged cells as we age. Many chronic illnesses including cancer and Alzheimer’s are influenced by the accumulation of these senescent cells. The new drug is part of a class of medicines called senolytics, which selectively eliminate older cells to (hopefully) improve health and quality of life as humans age!
2. So good it Hertz
Hertz has placed an order to purchase 100,000 electric vehicles to add to its rental car fleet. This comes on the heels of news in September that the Tesla Model 3 is the best-selling car on the European continent. Meanwhile, Ford plans to invest $11.4 billion in creating factories in Tennessee and Kentucky, where it will manufacture its electric F-series pickup trucks. This move will help to create over 11,000 jobs (noice!)
