While healthcare facilities act as the first line of defense in protecting populations, they are emitting almost 5% of the world’s emissions of carbon dioxide, the main greenhouse gas warming the world. The pledges need specifics — but they’re a start.
The U.S. eased travel restrictions Monday enabling a surge of long-awaited reunions and connections, something that has been sorely missed by many during the pandemic. The restrictions effectively halted tourism and non-essential travel from 33 countries and separated loved ones, friends and families in the process.
